Hello, my name is Anthony Dolot. I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy practicing in Putnam and Westchester Counties of New York State.
About Physical Therapy
Most people are aware that physical therapists treat patients, but many may be curious about the reasons behind the effectiveness, efficiency, and success of physical therapy (PT). The answer lies in fundamental nature of PT: It is an applied science. Physical therapists bridge the gap between laboratory and theoretical research, and translate it into practical clinical applications. The term “physical” in PT underscores our focus on measurable problems. It also emphasizes our role as natural therapists, who avoid the use of drugs and surgeries. In essence, our approach promotes health and healing through movement and physical modalities.
About This Website
This website provides basic information about my home-based PT services. I treat patients with neurological impairments and dysfunctions. The idea of home-based therapy is based on the latest, evidence-based research. It aims to help patients regain their natural, functional movements in their personalized environment. At its core, home-based therapy maximizes the desired neuroplastic changes. It utilizes the patient’s home environment to assist them in recapturing lost function. It also prevents the development of excessive spasticity or compensatory strategies. My goal is to provide the right treatment to the right patient at the right time, ensuring that they can enjoy their movement and life without the need for canes, splints, or walkers.
Here’s a bit more about me:
I’ve been practicing as a Physical Therapist for over three decades. My experience spans acute and rehabilitation hospitals in Australia and the United States. I’ve managed injured athletes at a professional soccer club in Sydney and treated injured workers at General Motors in Adelaide. I’ve also worked in various rehabilitation facilities, home care agencies, and outpatient clinics in Chicago. Furthermore, I served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. Currently, I’m semi-retired and provide home-based therapy to individuals with chronic diseases and disorders.
I thrive in a small, home-based private practice, where I can minimize bureaucratic demands and deliver the highest quality of care.
I provide effective, evidence-based solutions, my knowledge is rooted in a lifelong study of health and healing. My formal academic training includes an undergraduate dissertation titled “Theory & Practice of Acupressure” (Poland), postgraduate training and certification in Acupuncture for Physiotherapists (Australia), and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (USA).
